Promotional APR Reduction(s)_Chase, Amex

Received the below 8.9% APR reduction promotional offer until August 31st, 2023 from Chase. It reminded me that tis the season of attempting APR reductions. After seeing this, I hopped on AMEX online chat and was able to get a 12 month promotional APR reduction on my Delta Reserve from 22.29% to 20.29% for future purchases. I have a few overseas trips coming up soon so either the CSR or Reserve will get heavy use. There was also a promotional offer for 0%  APR until July 2023 for my Amex EDP. I took the Reserve reduction and the online rep suggested I call for manual reduction as well. I'll be sure to call. Probably worth calling Chase as well. I got my CSR at their highest APR a year ago so any reduction is nice. Wish I could get some permanent reductions but don't we all😊

Wowzers. That's awesome. I'm happy with my 8.9% and think I'll take the offer but still wondering if I can call to get a better offer. Maybe playing with fire?

Re: Promotional APR Reduction(s)_Chase, Amex

I've been eying the Amazon Prime card but I still have about 11 months to be under 5/24. I can't remember Chase offering any reduced promo APR offers since then. Did see a few balance transfer offers.

The offer I received from Chase as a promo Apr Reduction is my first offer in seventeen years. They did not offer any balance transfers.

Re: Promotional APR Reduction(s)_Chase, Amex

Wow. So this is pretty rare for Chase then. The only time I received a balance transfer from them was when I let a large amount post on one of my Amexes. I think I let 3000 post at statement time and then Chase sent me a promotional BT offer. Didn't need it though.

Promo APR's or automatic APR I have gotten. It has been many years since I have seen a BT maybe as don't carry more then 2k at any given time on balances or maybe they are just that rare.  Has to be close to 5 years since offered a BT, but flex loans or whatever Chase calls them I have constantly at 6.99 or something along those lines if want to use a CC, but i don't

Re: Promotional APR Reduction(s)_Chase, Amex

I had a promotional offer on OG freedom in December, Chase went with 0% apr for 9 months,I accepted it, no charges on it because I didn't need it. No clue why I click on those sometimes. Two of my Chase cards are still in the initial 0% promo, so that only leaves Amazon card and CSR.

Amex wise, I have no fee plan it offer for new charges through 03/30. I get those on Reserve several times per year, usually when I have no use for them.  I don't know what my apr is, it was highest they offer when it was approved, I asked for reduction once because there was conflicting information whether they will do it at all when it's consumer initiated or not.

They did but that was many Fed Moons ago, so now it's probably higher than what it was 3 years ago.

Interesting ... just checked Chase and they are offering my personal account 0% Apr with a variable fee ranging from $4.73 on $1,000 over 3 months to $5.55 over 12 months. In the past there was an interest rate much higher than yours like over 9.9% Apr! Recently they offered 1.72% Apr per month ... They are resourceful.
