Published Credit Card Scoring Range

On MyFico and other web sites, they list FICO ranges that various credit cards require to be approved. For example, American Express Platinum, Discover Miles, Capitol One Venture and Chase Sapphire normally require excellent credit to obtain the card. And depending on the web-site, excellent Fico scores are either above 720 or 750. Yet I've read the AMEX doesn't use FICO scores, preferring to use there own scoring model. I'm also aware of other factors such as, length of credit history impact decisions.

But I'm curious of the accuracy of the ranges. Zync reportedly is  lenient toward lowers scores. But again depending on the site, excellent credit is required. In my case, Capital One, states to be approved for a Venture card, you must never have experienced a 60 day lateness. I had one several years back. And it was with Capital One, though it was not my fault. But I was approved yesterday with a $7500 limit. Go figure.

I realize these ranges are only a guide..  Any thoughts?

Yes a guide that I never use. lol

People here are much more knowledgable than some credit website that probably gets paid everytime you click from them to a credit application and apply.
