Re: Pulled the trigger on AMEX

I received the autopay form on tuesday and immediately faxed it that same day, i called on thursday to check the status and they had no updates and told me to call on monday.

@LS2982, this is how my report looked like at the time of application:

Positive Accounts:

First Premier: Open/Never Late (Opened on June 2011)

Public Savings Bank: Open/Never Late (Opened on June 2011)

Capital One Secured: Open/Never Late (Opened on August 2011)

Negative Accounts:

Bank of America: Paid Charge Off

AAOA: 7 Months

Util: 11%

I have seen many people with much better scores and reports get denied for the Zync and not being offered the hard limit Zync, this makes me believe that AMEX may be selecting a small percentage of applications that were denied the Zync and counter offering them with the $500 zync.

Re: Pulled the trigger on AMEX

Im in the exact same situation as you, I faxed my form in on Wed. However when I went to the "check your application status" link on Amex website it now says approved where it had originally said declined...

Re: Pulled the trigger on AMEX

Mine still says Declined when i check the status and i faxed the form on Tuesday, if yours says approved then i think your probably good to go.

I am contemplating calling them again tomorrow, it seems like your application is farther ahead then mine even though i faxed the form a day earlier.

Re: Pulled the trigger on AMEX

Honestly I dont know how much good calling them will do Denny, the regualr CSRs clearly do not know about this program. I originally applied for the card on 10/5 and got the same message as you

"However, during the online application process you elected to accept our offer of another ZYNCSM Card product.  The ZYNC Card that you selected has the following features:..."

with the 500 autopay feature. After accepting the offer online and putting in my bank info the computer timed out so I called. The CSR told me I was declined and he had no idea what I was talking about when I brought up the counter offer. Fast forward to last Wed morning when I revieved that letter detailing the rules and regulations of the $500 hard limit and asking "to please fax this form" with my bank info. I called once again and asked for an application status check. Once again,  the CSR told me he had no idea what I was talking about. After explaing the whole ordeal about the counter offer and the letter he told me to hold on and he'd check with another department, he put me on hold and about 2 min later came back and said 'sorry sir but it was declined'  So I said what the heck and filled out the form with my bank info and faxed it in per the instructions anyways. Then yesterday I went to the AMEX website and checked my application status which now says "congratulations your app has been approved you should recieve your card in 7-10 business days."

So who knows!!!
