Interesting. I've never heard of that before. Then again, I usually go to the post office for money orders and I use my debit card.

card issuers  really frown upon it.....capitol one is a prime target however. capone's cancellation of my card would probaly make me laugh if nothing else.

They do accept debit cards but only as a pin transaction as it is techincally still a cash transaction. They won't take the debit card payment as "credit".


Right, I have never heard of a place that won't accept debit cards run as debit but will accept a prepaid!  Many Walmart's are doing the opposite, only accepting debit cards with your name on, and rejecting anything that looks like a prepaid gift card.   And some, as trumpet says, find it easier just to say "Cash only"
