Ok so I used my AMEX BCP to buy my wedding dress because I figured I could use the Plan It feature to spread the payments out a little bit. Unfortunately, they're only offering a 3 month plan for like $450/month. While this is doable, it's certainly not ideal and not what I was hoping for. Has anyone ever had the offer change? Like if I waited a little bit, do you think they'd offer a different plan, or is this kind of set in stone?
I've used this feature before to spread payments out and have been offered multiple plans like 3, 6, and 9 months. I just don't understand why they're only offering 3 months. Does it have anything to do with your credit at the time?
Thanks for your help.
Kind of answered my own question here... So I chatted online with AMEX Customer Service and they said that I could call the "Plan It Team" and have them extend the plan manually. Since I was doing it online, it gives limited options. Figured this was good information to share!
I'd never think of asking them. Good to know that I could actually do that.
FWIW, I only get 6, 12 and 18 months. I feel the opposite, as I actually want 3 months in most cases (fewer months = lower fee).
Not sure why Amex does this, but if you are on a promotional interest rate, they limit your Plan It options to 3 months.

I have not had that experience.
My BCP which is still under 0% promo.
I noticed with my Cash Magnet that I got wildly different offers. Nice to hear that you can talk with them for other options. Let us know the outcome?

Nope.
Yeah, the options are apparently based on creditworthiness at the time. Sometimes they'll offer 9 months on a $200 purchase, and other times it will be only a 3-month option for a $1500 purchase. It may or may not change. I suppose you could just wait until around the statement cut date and check again?
Congrats on the dress/wedding!!!
Again... if you are on a promotional rate, Amex limits you to a 3 month option.
IF you are on a 0% offer, you have term options.

Nope.
Is this on a new card with a 0% APR promotional rate, or is it a Plan It offer for a No Fee Plan It arrangement, and this card is not on a zero APR promotion in the first ~ year ?
