Re: Question - Discover Card - Whats your limit

Maybe I should be careful with getting 50K, Amex might have issues with this.

What's interesting to me is how you get useful info without asking. The boss in their new accounts office said that whenever an applicant states a HHI over 121,000 annually, that along with scores and other factors will automatically qualify you for their max CL of 50K.

Again, who knew?

Sounds of clapping, clapping, a person stands up, then another- finally the whole CC forums is STANDING UP AND CLAPPING!

Take a bow!! So proud of you!
And I know that you are proud too as you have been talking about this for quite a while- since Sept at least- that's when I got heavy into posting here.

Whoa, our HHI is around $127K. Now for those pesky scores.

So when a lender does a hard, it's entered on your credit reports immediately? And therefore shows on your FICO if you buy it 30 seconds later? That's amazing! If so, you'd think that they could update my Sears/ Citi in under two weeks.

Exactly what I was thinking.  You got the ten you know they want to give you 50.  Sit on it and take it in CLIs

10k starting on a discover is awesome!!

Most I have read is 5-8k which is why I dont want to appy for it lol

He was actually approved for the 50 but took the ten to get it over with.  Fused I would go for it at least up to 25k if you don't think Amex will get itchy

Amex very well could get itchy. Can't remember who posted it here- but they were afraid of FR not because they got a CLI on Amex - but some other CC that had a newly upp'd CL on another CC.

So did you pull from MyFico? Or TC? Just wondering...can't believe it was that fast. Reason I say this is why does it take so long for payments or some cards to update on the diff. CB's reports? If an inq can hit that hard why does it take so long for CLI's to show...or when I pay off a card? For ex. I have 2 cards left to pay off, and I have a gut feeling it won't show till Jan at least...

Well, if Amex were to request a FR, I would acquiesce and play nice. I know I will pass, then I would shut the door on em and close my accounts. I doubt they will do this, I have never been late, have very low balances on all revolving accounts and I charge a ton my amex cards. If I'm not a good customer, who is?

I first pulled on creditsecure to confirm it, then checked my new FICO EX score.
