Question about AMEX Offers

So I have two AMEX cards of my own (BCE, PRG) and two that I am an AU on (ED, SPG).

I get these AMEX offers that I've used in the past (mostly on my BCE). I'm sure most of you with AMEX cards also like these offers. They tend to give back 10-20% in immediate credit (and sometimes points).

I've always wondered why they send travel offers on my non-travel cards (Enterprise deal $20 off $200 or more on ED, Delta $100 off $500 or more on BCE and ED, etc.) and never on my travel cards (PRG or SPG) but that's not my real question.

My question is this:

I get the same offer on multiple cards. All my four cards are now on the same username.

The fine print on most of these offers say "limited to one per AMEX online account." (not limited to one cardholder, mind it)

For folks who have multple AMEX cards (and there are many here), how do you get the deals on more than one cards?

I know how to add them. Just open multiple tabs and get all the cards loaded at the same time.

But I haven't used the same offer on multiple cards (either didn't have that particular offer on multiple card, or didn't have one so good so far). But the current Staples offer looks yummy and would like to use it on more than one card.

Does it go through regardless? Or do I need to remove the other cards and load them on new online accounts i.e. username / password?

Re: Question about AMEX Offers

I accidently accepted the Sprint offer on my PRG and when I reverse it, I could not. Hoppe don chat and was told once the offer was loaded on PRG, I could not move it on another card.

If you look closely, you'll notice all of the offers are't the same on all cards. You can only get that offer on one card unless the offer is available on multiple cards and even then, I think once you accept it on one card, you will not see it on the other cards. You mentioned something able travle offer, I could see one on my PRG card but not on my Delta Skymiles gold.

Back when I still had my Green card, as long as I used multiple tabs to add the offer to each card there was never an issue with redeeming it on each card, regardless of the language.

IMO, the language is there to keep grandma from calling Amex to ask the CSR how to use multiple tabs/browsers... can you imagine that conversation?  Smiley Surprised

If Amex truly didn't want it to work, they would make a simple change to their back-end system that would take it away.  They are simply too resourceful for it to be a mere accident that it works, and the language is there to keep someone less savvy from taking up their CSR's phone time.  FWIW I actually saw a similar scenario with my previous employer... it's not uncommon (at least to me).

Edited to add:  The above assumes, of course, that the offer is available on additional cards, which isn't always the case.

Re: Question about AMEX Offers

If you have all your cards attached to the same name, removing PRG and using a new email address sometimes shuffles the deck with new offers.

I know. I'm talking about the ones available on multiple cards.

You can add them to multiple cards simultaneously, but the offer has to be available for each of them. I'm asking if redemption on multiple cards is possible.

Thanks for the data point. I hope that it works out now as well.

The offers are indeed available on multiple cards and can be added.

Your point on the CSR was hilarious!

Not a bad idea. I might try it in some time.

A little surprised that the BCE seems to get the better travel offers!

+1 UncB and I never even noticed the language before

I've added and used the same offer on different cards and never had a problem adding them

In fact I used a $100 off hotel just had to break up the stay days then I call the hotel and had them merged Smiley Wink

They (hotel) didn't care it was paid for just meant they had another room to book ....Lol smart huh

Before you app think...
Have you done your research of the CC?
Does it fit your spending?
Do you have a plan for the bonus w/o going into debt?
Can you afford the AF?
Do you know the cards benefits? Is it worth the HP?
