Question about Chase Freedom World MasterCard

I got approved for a Chase Freedom Visa three months ago. I would like to upgrade it to a World MasterCard. Should I switch it to a MasterCard first then upgrade to World MC or wait until I meet the eligibilities, then go from visa straight to world MC?

Will switch from visa to master affect my credit score?

Sorry to disappoint you but that won't be possible any more. I have tried all the known avenues with Chase to convert my Freedom Visa Signature to Freedom World MasterCard and every time I get same answer. Chase is expanding their relationship with Visa and abandoning MasterCard.

Chase is converting all Freedom MasterCard accounts into Visa, so this would not be possible to do. An alternative option for an upgrade is wait 12 months and have a credit line of at least $5000 and request Chase Freedom Visa Signature.

why would you switch from a visa to a mastercard? benefits?

I just wanted to be able to use it at Sams Club but that is ok, no big deal. I have Discover IT for Sams Club as well.
