Question about Chase

What do they usually determine their decisions off of? obviously credit score, but do they look at history etc as well? I just want to know and better prepare myself because after im done in the garden i plan on taking a nice shower and applying for the Chase Disney and suprising my girl and her little baby girl with a 2015 Disney Cruise!!!

any info would be appreciated!!

Honestly I have no idea and it seems to vary widely. When I applied for the Freedom card I had zero credit card history and my scores were 583, 624, 639. I expected an instant denial. They pulled both EX and EQ which likely means my approval was borderline but it was an approval nonetheless! From my personal experience once you have your foot in the door they are very generous with second card limits. Smiley Happy Good luck

unless you are talking about the "Disney Premier Visa® Card" with an AF of $49, their isn't much of a reason to get disney card unless you dream of a card with a mouse on it in your wallet  Smiley LOL.  Your CS card has better rewards and will earn the trip faster. The Premier version with the AF is slightly more interesting but isn't all that great might be better to garden a bit and PC your CS to CSP if possible not familiar with the process and will probably require a HP since your CL isn't over $5k on the CS card.

Cards: Chase Southwest 20k & CSR 17k & CSP 10k & FNBO 30k Oregon Duck 5k, & AMEX BCP 32.5k & Amex Magnet 15k&amg; Hilton Surpass 7.5k & Delta Gold 12k & Zync NPSL, Fidelity AMEX 17k Commerce5.9k & Cash Forward 7.5k & Sams Club MC 20k, Paypal Extras MC 10k, Paypal Credit 7.25k CapOne Venture 15k, QS 2.5k, QS 750, Amazon 10k, Walmart 10k, Citi Simplicity 18k, Discover IT 23k and a nice stack of store cards.

Re: Question about Chase

diphendrix, as an aside, I don't know who you bank with, but if you bank with Chase you can get the Chase Disney Debit card. There is no annual fee, and you get the exact same benefits as the Chase Disney Premier card except for the rewards earning on money spent (which you can really do better with elsewhere). You get the Disney Vacations discount etc, just like the credit card. Now, if you want the actual credit card then do what's best for you, but I thought I would bring it up. We are going to WDW later this year and I got the Disney Debit for the discounts and the Character Meet and Greet, etc.

Anyway, something to think about.

No problem. You get the same discount on disney stores, merch, etc as the credit card. You get a discount online at the disney store too. You get the discount on vacations and crusies. You get a free meet and greet at the parks especially for cardholders as well. The only differences are that the Premier has a few extra card designs and with the credit card you get 2% back at gas, grocery, restaurants, and most disney locations. However, you might as well get a Fid AMEX or Double Cash and get 2% off everywhere. Not to mention the credit card has a $49 annual fee, and the debit card is free. It's pretty awesome I think.

Now, if you simply want the credit card, I get it being a Disney lover and all. Just saying that you should check out the Debit card first before deciding.

Re: Question about Chase

I have the Disney debit card too. It's a pretty cool design IMO. Mine has Mickey Mouse on the front.

Anyway, I think Chase can be very fickle when it comes to new accounts, thin credit file and inquiries but not impossible to get your foot in the door with. Just might take a couple of times to get it right and especially getting a good recon person to talk to if you get denied still.
