Hello all:
I know that this may be a sensitive subject for many of you. Many of you may say that I might be dancing with the devil, lol...
I know OCCU closed a lot of accounts earlier this year, but prior to the meltdown, they were giving awesome limits. Do any of you know if they still give decent limits post-meltdown? Assuming you qualify of course (which I do).
Looking to add 2 nice CUs to portfolio.
If your in their area yes. I read not many if any get approved if not within their footprint area.

I don't live in the area, but I qualify via relative. I was just hoping that if I get in, I could get those big approvals.
I haven't figured out how to include picture of my cards in my siggy, so I will just give an idea of my profile. I will figure the rest later.
CSP $14k
BoA Rewards $18k
Citi/ Sears $11k
Barclays $5k
Comenity FR $6k
AAoA 5 years and change, 750 ficos across, < 10% utilization.
Getting two $20k cards would be awesome for my utilization.
Thanks

I'm not sure about $20k though, that is huge for any credit card.

Yes, it would.
However, you post that you are already under 10% utilization, so dropping it further won't really help you in any measurable way.
I would pass on this idea unless there is more to the logic. Opening new lines to lower util when you're already under 10% seems unnecessary to me.
JMHO.

I hear ya. I should add I am looking to buy a new car as well as am taking a vacation too. Honestly, the only card I ever use is my Barclays. And I PIF most times, if not I pay very close to it. CSP is new, haven't broken it in yet. I think getting with a generous credit union wouldn't hurt
Plus, Ron1 is my idol!

Just app for a GE card and call Credit Solutions.
OCCU is the definition of amateur hour. As much as I dislike CU's in general there are far better options: Andrews, DCU, SDFCU, Ft. Knox, NASA, Penfed to name a few.

I just poured through old threads. They really were handing out 20k limits to anyone who asked, huh? Oh well. It's not worth the headaches I guess. Oh what could have been!
I settled on DCU(membership pending) and NFCU. Saving NFCU because apparently they are pull crazy. Plus, DF just got a membership this week through her brother, so theoretically I qualify via household.
Thanks for saving me the potential headaches, lol..
