Question about SDing a card

Posted my recent frustration with a CC from my local bank and SD'd in lieu of cards with actual benefits. About how long would you guys say I could go without touching it to keep it from getting either CLD or closed? Buy a lunch on it once every 3-6 months or should it be good?

Re: Question about SDing a card

Using it once every three to six months should be good to avoid closure. Avoiding a CLD would be another story. Some banks, like Discover and AMEX, will tolerate low spending on high limits. Capital One may CLD if your limit is over 10k and you haven't spent much over the past year. Bank of America and Synchrony will also CLD for low usage.

Re: Question about SDing a card

It's only a 1k card, hopefully they can just ignore it and not CLD... Maybe they'll push a CLI in the future after my credit matures more to try enticing me to use it more.

1k cards aren't going to get CLD'ed for low usage. Smiley Happy

Lol, tell that to SynchronySmiley Wink. It is possible to get a cld even on low limits if you dont take care of your other cards/ profile or if a baddie pops up. You should be ok thoughSmiley Happy
