Question about a Letter I received from Chase

I have 38k in credit with chase. I was approved for Amazon Visa with a very low limit of $500.00.

Yesterday I received a letter for the first time from chase in regards to them giving me a low limit.

Dear …….

Thank you for being a loyal Chase customer and for giving us the opportunity to service you further with a new AMAZON Visa Platinum card. If you haven’t already receive your card, you should be receiving it soon.

Here’s some information about your new credit line:

- Your new card comes with an initial credit line of $500.00

- Since we know that it's important to have a credit lime that meets your purchasing needs, you be able to move or combine available credit from your other Chase cards to increase the line on this new card.

If you're interested increasing your new credit line:

- When your new card arrives, call the number on the sticker to confirm receipt

- Our customer service specialists may be able to help move or combine available credit among your Chase cards to meet your needs.

We are appreciate your business.....

Maybe that is a common letter for people with a lot of other high limit cards? When you hit your maximum exposure?

I was thinking of calling the number on the back of my JP Morgan Ritz card and asking them instead of amazon csr. My question although I tried goggling it, mixed results were given in my overtook; I have a 5k credit line on Non-Annual Fee Sapphire visa, I also have the CSP but I am using the CSP currently and have Sapphire has no balance.

When chase talks about moving or combining they mean like a 1000 off one 2000 off another?

I also have a 1k balance on my Slate card balance transfer and an available $2200 hundred left on it.

I wouldnt move freedom, CSP, Ritz or United Lines. If say I move 4500 of my credit lint to Amazon instead of CS... will the CS still be able to remain open as a visa signature? and I still would have to wait a year for chase to give me the amazon in a visa signature, right? Thanks for your reply!

I think that's a normal message. I got that even when I got approved for CSP and still had room for a Freedom at the end.

And if you move anything from the Visa Signature cards, they really won't be Visa Signature cards anymore basically. You also have to wait probably 12 months of having said card at that limit before asking. I mean if you don't really care about whether your cards are Sigs or not, I don't think it'd be a big deal really. I've quite frankly never used the benefits before. Also I'm wondering what advantage an Amazon visa signature card would have anyway since the card's not really geared towards travel.

Re: Question about a Letter I received from Chase

Yes call the JPM number always.

Also.... It just means that you can move CL at any time.

Why not give the 1K Ritz lotto a try?

Re: Question about a Letter I received from Chase

I hear what you mean. I have several other visa signatures and yes I really don't need it in signature and wouldnt be just opposed to losing signature benefits on standard CS since I have the CSP too. I just never got a letter from chase like that, so it sparked my curiousity

Thank you for the reply. I rarely get any mail corespondance from Chase, so I was just intrigued by them offering me the option although its standard operation.

what do you mean by the 1k ritz lotto?

You don't have to have a card 12 months before you can move limits. I just moved $5500 from my Chase United card to CSP and I got the United card at the end of March.

It's common for anyone bumping into their internal limit.

Means you might get your AF refunded after lowering the limit because the AF cant be more than 25% of the CL or something like that.

Worked for me last week and I got my card in early 2015.
