Question about applying for CCs

I'm really new to this and as there is no one in my family (either no credit or bad credit there) I'm turning to you guys here. I know that on credit card applications you need to submit your physical address as your mailing address. Problem is that I can only get my mail to a P.O. Box. My first credit card came from being on the phone for quite a while with a Wells Fargo rep (who I would definitely recommend) who really went out of the way to set up my account and submit my cc app. Would me having a P.O. Box be a major problem for credit cards? My P.O. Box address is also on my credit report. Can I submit the app online or should I just call and speak to someone?

Re: Question about applying for CCs

I think your best option is to call. In my opinion the computer algorithm may deny you with a PO Box.

Re: Question about applying for CCs

Some apps notice you input a P.O. Box and then ask you to add your additional "physical address" this allows them to mail to p.o. But have you listed at your physical address which is a mandatory function of the freedom act'.

Re: Question about applying for CCs

So I did some mock apps and for most of the cards I can apply for I can put in both addresses. Thanks gbib. Did not realize something would pop up when I entered my PO Box.

Coldnmn, I'll be taking your advice for Citibank, though. They specifically state no P.O. Boxes and then don't offer another option if the po box is another way to get mail. Best bet would be to call them cause they don't have everything clear cut.

Thanks to you both.

Incorrect - the requirement for lenders to comply with this piece of verification (KYC) was due to the Patriot Act.  The USA Freedom Act has nothing to do with this.

Sorry. I believe my information was accurate but just attributed to the wrong passion inspiring titled act.
