Question about calls verifying your information

I know I've been told by several people "in the know", or so I believe, that if you get a call from a CCC with which you have applied for credit, verifying info (for different reasons... in my case, I have fraud alerts on my CRs), that usually means they are approving you.  If not, they just don't call to bother verification and deny you right away.

What are your thoughts on this?  Any experiences?  So far, for me, any time they have called to verify, I have been approved.

They are required to call you if you have a FA and they are considering your application.

In theory they CAN NOT provide instant approval w/ a FA.

Re: Question about calls verifying your information

I know they have to call to verify if I have a FA... but if they were going to deny me, would they bother verifying anything?  I know that I have applied at places before, and the way it's been for me is that if they called me to verify info due to the FA, they were in the process of approving me.  If they never called to confirm anything, I was always denied.

Is this a fairly true situation, or has my experience just been out of the ordinary?  I just wondered because I've gotten a couple of verification calls this week, and I wanted to know if I should take that as a good sign?

Re: Question about calls verifying your information

You are right in expecting a denial if no calls. But if they do call, that is a sign of reconsideration and depending upon the information you give them your chances for getting approved increase exponentially.
Good luck.

Montana is correct. If they don't call, it usually is denial all the way. But if they do take the time to call, you certainly have a very good chance of approval.

I had a FA on my CRs once and got denied for every app I put in. Now, looking back, I think it is because I do not answer toll free or strange no name long distance calls. So I may have shot myself in the foot several times because of my call screening and they (CCC) will not usually leave any kind of message.

Take a deep breath and relax. You are probably okay. Anyway, good luck!

Well.. I'm happy to report that my new Chase Disney Visa came in the mail today... that's one verification call down.... LOL  There are 2-3 more that I got this past week... I guess we'll see what happens.  Then I need to stop applying and check into the Sleigh Center for therapy!
