Question about combining limits w/ Cap One

I'm sure this question has been answered someplace & maybe it's obvious, but here goes...  If you have two Cap One cards & you combine the limits, do you close the other card?  I've got one card with a $7k limit & one with a $5.5k limit that I want to combine.  I'm just curious what happens to the other card?
