Question about opting out

I opted out a while back, not sure of the exact date.  Couple months.  I can not get a CLI ffom BML at all. When they send the denial letter it says the score is from 04/23/2014 when I was sitting at 580-something.  Could the fact that I opted out be causing this?

Re: Question about opting out

Opting out shouldn't have anything to do with it.  They're just going by the last soft pull they have stored for you and they pull on their own schedule.  I don't have a BML account so I can't check my own softs, but if it's anything like other Comenity cards 3+ months at least between pulls is what I would expect.  I'd hit the button again after your next statement and see if the date changes.  This is assuming your account wasn't opened just a few short months ago, of course.  Or you could monitor your softs and hit the button after they pull you.

Re: Question about opting out

Opting out of pre-screened credit offers means just that; companies that code their credit report request as a credit pre-screen will be denied access. It will not prevent any requests relating to accounts you already have, such as routine checks or checks for a credit line increase, nor does it affect credit requests initiated by you (as from a credit application) or for other reasons, such as renting. If you don't want pre-screened credit offers, there really is no reason not to opt out, because it cannot interfere with anything else--it's a very limited tool.
