Question about the affects of new accounts

Hi everyone! Quick question: my Amex BCE, Discover It, and BofA Cash Rewards cards were all opened in May-June of this year. At what point do the affects of opening up new credit stop hurting my score and start bringing it up? By the way, I have had my Discover for 3 months now and just recieved a CLI to 3k from $1,500 Smiley Happy it was a hard pull (I know, ugh) but worth it, in my opinion.

Thanks guys!

Chase Sapphire: $10,000 | Amex BCE: $15,000 | BofA Cash Rewards WMC: $15,000 | Discover IT: $15,000

Re: Question about the affects of new accounts

On thinner files the ding of new accts is usually a yr. plus you added a HP. If the file is a thicker, usually 6 mos or so.

Re: Question about the affects of new accounts

+1 Lexie - the impact will vary. I would say it is about a six months impact for most people, and longer for those with thin files. That doesn't mean new accounts are always bad. If a new account changes your mix of credit and improves your utilization your score may not change much as a result of the INQ and new account because the benefits may outweigh the negatives.

In My Wallet: Amex BCP (12/12) $50,000, Chase Freedom (12/12) $16,500, Cap1 Quicksilver (6/12) $14,000, Barclaycard Rewards (5/13) $10,500, Citi Prestige (4/16) $30,000
