Question about the two checks provided by Citi Double Cash

I just realized that my card came with two checks.

Says transfer high rate balances and save but it also states on the bottom:
" we've included checks - and same low rate applies until your promotional offer ends, no matter how you use them."
- write yourself a check, deposit it into your account and use the money however you choose.
- pay off high-rate credit cards or other loans to save on interest.

Has anyone used these checks other than balance transfer? I'd love to be able to cash the check in for cash. I figure it would be a loan and with 0% apr for 9 months I could pay it off in two months.

Can I do this or is it consider a cash advance?

Yes, you can deposit them directly into your account.  Keep in mind that the checks likely come with a 3% or 5% fee, so for instance if you deposit a $5000 check, you would owe $5150 or $5250 with a 0% offer.

Edit: It counts as a promotional balance transfer, not a cash advance.  With the fees, if you paid it off in 2 months that's the same as getting a cash advance with a 18% or 30% APR depending on the fee.

Ah thank you for clarifying. It does say 3% fee same with balance transfer. This is a first for me seeing these checks provided with the card.
