Question about upgrading

Howdy!

I've got a 'lil question about upgrading as the title would suggest. I recently accepted a couple of offers to upgrade my Capital One Platinum MCs to QS1 cards and though I'm pretty sure I already know the answer, I just want to make sure. So when you accept an upgrade, the account number as well as the date the account was originally opened remain the same, right? It's not like closing the older account and opening a brand new one or anything of the sort, is it?

Thanks for the prompt response. I figured such was the case, I just wanted to make sure.

Re: Question about upgrading

I upgraded my Cap1 platnium to Venture 1 thinking it would be like a new card but as previous replys to this message everything stays the same. I was probably better off applying for the Venture one to get all the start up benefits and higher CL. I will take it as a lesson learned as I move forward with my credit adventures.

I could be wrong, but I think if you already had a Cap One card and apped for the Venture, you wouldn't have gotten the start up benefits anyway. Perhaps someone with more experience can chime in and confirm or refute.
