Question for the experts

Last month when I requested a cli from navy 500 CL, I also applied for a usaa card. Navy boosted me to 1500 and Usaa denied the card I was going for but countered their rebuilder classic visa with a 1000 starting line I didn't accept right then they gave me 45 days to decide.

So to my question, yesterday I apped for the discover chrome card and was approved for a 9500 sl, 2 months ago I was also approved for the Amex PRG which hasn't hit my report yet. Will discover get spooked if I accept the usaa card and have the Amex card show up around the same time? The chrome is my highest limit I've gotten yet and don't want to trigger an AA. My highest regular card is navy for 1500 and my highest store card is Amazon prime for 3500. Any and all advice is appreciated, portfolio listed below all unsecured credit. Dv

Suncoast credit union 500

Us bank Harley card 1000

Cap 1 quicksilver 1300

Nfcu nrewards 1500

Overstock 1850

Discover it 3400

Amazon Prime 3500

Amex PRG

Discover it chrome 9500 not yet received

Usaa visa classic 1000 not yet accepted.

Re: Question for the experts

Discover won't care, likely.  They're not like Synch or Barclay that get jealous over other new accounts.

I'd say accept USAA and get your foot in the door with them as they can be a great lender once they trust you more.

Re: Question for the experts

I'd take the USAA card, and Discover won't care. As the PP stated, USAA are good to get in with if you can.

Re: Question for the experts

So the three new accounts hitting my reports at the same time won't be an issue for them? That's great to know. Okay I'll accept the usaa card. Thanks everyone. Dv

Re: Question for the experts

Not an expert, but I can give you some insight. Got my first credit card 4 months ago (Discover It Student). 2 month ago I got 7 more credit cards (all in the siggy). Discover hasn’t said anything to me, and I assume it’s safe because it’s beeen a couple months now. I say no worries; you should be perfectly fine!

Sidenote- I asked for a CLI on my Discover (LOTS of spending, 0 balance) and got denied. Too little discover history. You can try if you want but just a data point.

Enjoy your new cards!

Thanks for your response, I have one discover already started as a secured then unsecured started with 2500. Two months after unsecuring I asked for a cli and they gave me 900 so I feel very fortunate there too. Discover seems to like me lately and with my scores I can't seem to figure out why, that's why I don't want to rock the boat. Dv

You're too worried.  Smiley Happy

Discover only cares about how you treat Discover...  (within reason, of course...)

I've heard wonderful things about USAA, and I would JUMP at that chance.

Yay you!

LOL thanks TCB, I jumped back into the garden yesterday. I've decided to accept the usaa card once I get the discover card, I have time. Dv

Re: Question for the experts

Definitely glad you're accepting the USAA card-stay clean with them and your overall credit and pick up a Limitless in the future. 2.5% everywhere is pretty handy, especially with $1 reward claim increments. Definitely the best daily driver in my wallet.

Re: Question for the experts

Well today I finally pulled the trigger and accepted the offer it's only a thousand dollar sl but it's a starting point with usaa. I hope it doesn't hurt me with Discover, I know I'm being paranoid. Thanks for all the advice everyone. Dv
