I have a question is required to transfer balances with the Chase Slate? I would use it for purchases. Right now I have no need to transfer balances

No it's not mandatory to do balance transfers.

But it's not very useful for anything else, since there are no rewards or anything.

And it's not really that useful for balance transfers because (a) the special features end after 60 days and (b) the starting limit is usually too low to do good size balance transfers without wrecking your utilization.

If you are not going to use it for transfers.. you may want to consider calling Chase and discussing a PC (Product Change) to one of the Freedom Cards.... maybe you can get better bells and whistles with one of their other cards... especially since you have no balance transfers on it .. and not in the future either.

Just food for thought.

Congratulations!

I know with other cards you can.

I am not sure about with Chase.. or if you have to have the Slate for a while?

I have never tried... however I think we can conjure up some Chase Card Owners that may be able to answer you.

If you just got the card .. you can maybe tell Chase that you made a boo boo and that you really wanted Freedom.

myFICO peeps maybe you can share your wisdom?

Did you go for the Freedom or the Freedom Unlimited?

Did they keep the same Credit Limit as well?

Congratulations again ! Smiley Happy
