Question on Target Card Upgrade

Those of you who got your Target Store Card Upgraded to Visa, did Target replace your old card number on your credit report with new Visa account number or did you end up having two entries on your CR one for store card and one for Visa Card?

I had two for a little while, then the visa replaced the store.

Thanks peas. Let us wait and see if I would be able to get CLI on my Target Card and eventually a Vis from them. For the Fico scoring purposes, is Target Store Card and Target Visa Card provide different scores or do they both provide same scores? I understand Store Cards provide less score boost comparing to major cc's. Is it correct?

I can't answer your questions, but that seems to be the vibe of the board.  And you already know it's  considered good to have a store card in the mix.  Is this your only store card?  (I'm sorry, I can't remember!)

I have JCP / Target/OldNavy / Macy's / Dillards / Spiegels / Kay / Jared store cards. I want to see if I can slowly get them graduated to majors. Again, I am not in a hurry either. I want to enjoy my cards I have now and let them grow.

In May my 1 year anniversary we be here and I really never thought about if they upgradeg me to the visa would they start up a whole new account. I would love to know that answer.

Yup, new account that keeps the orig opening date of the store card.

thats really good to know!  Of course, I have a late with them that wont drop off until November so I don't think I will try getting a CLI or hoping for a Visa from them

I have the Target red card and 2 weeks ago I applied for the Visa and got the further processing message...Anyhoo, I will let you all know what happens..Um thinking I wont get it but yet hoping I do....

Is there anyone here who has applied for it and been approved while having the Red card? I have already taken the hit so Im officially the guinea pig so others will know if this works or not....
