Question on credit limit

If I ask amy credit card company to raise my available credit, would they do a hard inquiry or check my credit score in order for them to raise my credit limit?

Depends on the issuer.

Some will only give a CLI with a hard pull, some will do a soft pull, and some will do no pull at all.

Who is the issuer of the card you want a CLI on?

I have a WalMart Card that only has a $125 limit...(I ran into some debt issues as you can tell)

I think my limit on the card was 500 before, then they cut it back. My score about 2-3yrs ago was about 740 when I bought my first house. But I had quit my job back then to go to nursing school. For those 2 yrs I neglected my credit, and really did not understood the importance of maintaining the good score I had.

Now that I want to buy a second home as a registered nurse, my scores are TU 575, EX 545 and EQ 556. I really messed up.
