Question re: moving around AMEX SLs to avoid annual fees

So I have both a Delta Gold and Platinum Skymiles card. The Gold has been open since January 2019, and the Platinum has been open since May 2019. I really don't need both, and as of now I am paying annual fees on both. Problem is the Gold has a higher SL than the Platinum, but the Platinum obviously has more benefits. Can I move the SL from the Gold to the Platinum and then close the Gold?

Also, if I can do this, should I? Or should I just keep both cards?

Thanks to all who chime in!

Yes, you can actually do the transfer of Credit Limit on line yourself. I have experienced limits as to how much I could transfer, often limited to $5,000 using this method, but calling in or chat usually allows more. Then the Delta Gold could be cancelled, though that needs to be done through chat or phone conversation.
