Since everyone on the forum always gives good advice, I thought I would start here before making the move to upgrade.
I have a Delta Gold AMEX with a measly $1,000 CL. When I first received the card back in 2007 I had the lovely perk of a companion certificate. That no longer exists therefore I'm considering upgrading. I learned the annual fee will increase starting May 1.
My question is this.... My statement cuts on the 23 of each month. Is it better to wait until after my statement? Or is the upgrade timeframe irrelevant because the annual fee will show after the my April 23 statement?
My goal is to limit the amount shown on my statement. Thanks!

Wait until after the 23rd. You'll have time to request the upgrade before the 1st.
