Re: Questions about Inquiries and Account Reviews

Yes this just happened to me today too! I had one Tu inquiry because I thought the others were just removed or something (most were auto related but not properly coded). Today, ck showed me with 13! From 1! Darn I thought they were gone. Shoulda apped for Barclays when i had the chance. The old ones are mostly from june 2014.

And i know what you mean- when i pulled actual reports, they were all there, but other apps and self monitoring showed one.

I have: walmart, discover, ck, c sesame, myfico. So i guess i did it to myself. Although, i did google around today and found some info, but nothing really helpful at this time or nothing I understood.

I wonder if they will ever disappear again, or if ill have to ride it out the full two years. I understand that it should be two years, but it sucks when you think they're gone and they reappear. They were gone for like 5 months!

I know exactly how you feel - trust me. It really sucks because it's not our fault they were removed in the first place. I think since this was an issue with TU they should just keep them removed as a good will gesture Smiley Wink Unfortunately, I think we are now stuck with them for the whole 2 years. Actually, I'll be a little ticked off if they remove them again, just to put them back on again later down the road and drop my score again like they did today. I mean really, what if I was getting ready to close on a mortgage?

Let it go. You will understand how it works. They don't good will. This comes from excessive credit monitoring and could have negative effects. most of us have OCD here at myfico. Smiley Very Happy

Were the INQ related to applications for credit that you can point to? They didn't just appear out of thin air, right?

If they were real INQ to begin with, you can't expect to get them deleted, certainly not by TU who is just reporting what they get from the lenders.

Also, early on you said this has been happening for a year, but that implies you've been adding other new TU INQ in the last year? Those which were a year old a year ago are gone now, because they would be over 2 years old, correct?

It's an interesting thread about the INQ display capacity of TU, but these INQ do age away, if one is patient. And the record of the INQ is the way lenders communicate to each other about how often someone is applying for credit.

High Bal Jan 2009 $116k on $146k limits 80% Util.
Oct 2014 $46k on $127k 36% util EQ 722 TU 727 EX 727
April 2018 $18k on $344k 5% util EQ 806 TU 810 EX 812
Jan 2019 $7.6k on $360k EQ 832 TU 839 EX 831
March 2021 $33k on $312k EQ 796 TU 798 EX 801
May 2021 Paid all Installments and Mortgages, one new Mortgage EQ 761 TY 774 EX 777
April 2022 EQ=811 TU=807 EX=805 - TU VS 3.0 765

Yes, all of those INQ were HPs from credit applications that I submitted in the past. Those INQ have always been reported on my real credit report (I was only joking about the good will gesture, I never expected them to be deleted). The problem I had was that those INQ were NOT showing up on any credit monitoring sites (until yesterday).

I’ll use Credit Karma as an example. When I would first app for credit, that INQ would show on CK. Then after 6 months, CK would say that same INQ had been removed from my credit report (but it really hadn’t because I could still see it on my real report). But for some reason CK could no longer see it. The same has happened with Credit Sesame and myFico as well; they would say I only had 2 INQ when in fact I really had 12.

I honestly thought TU just didn’t count INQ past 6 months. That’s why I was so shocked yesterday when they all showed up again.

Here is a pic from CK I took yesterday so you can see what I’m referring to. For reference, my “last visit” to CK (prior to yesterday) was a week ago.

Oh they will come back, just a matter of when.. Called re-inserting.. TU systems are wacked and can only hold x amount of inquiries and SP count and cause the HP's to fall off..  TU re-inserts them a few times a year typically as a stop gap until they upgrade their software/computers or whatever is really causing the issue.  I think it is an old language they are using that only holds so many characters..  As staed by others you can read about it on many other boards if you want to educate yourself on the topic

I'm not sure if this question was for me, but yes all of mine came back (the whole reason for my original post) and they stayed until they hit 1 year old. Ever since all my TU INQs came back last year, now each time an INQ hits the one year mark on either on TU, EX, or EQ it gets removed from all the credit monitoring sites (i.e. Credit Karma, MyFico, Credit Sesame, EX, CCT, etc), but not from my actual credit reports.

Where are you looking to see your TU inquiries were removed?
