Questions about Mastercards

I've just been filled with questions lately!

So, I've never asked, but its been a little confusing for me.

I've heard terms like, World Mastercard and Elite Mastercard.

Could someone clarify those for me? Is it kinda like how Visa has Visa Signature? How could you obtain a World/Elite? Whats the difference?

Re: Questions about Mastercards

Yes those are the various network tiers and each offers a variety of extra benefits and services from the network and issuers. Search these forums for myriad topics discussing the World and World Elite tiers, and here are the official links with info:

Here's a good topic about the differences http://ficoforums.myfico.com/t5/Credit-Cards/World-Elite-M-C-vs-Visa-Signature/m-p/2271507

Re: Questions about Mastercards

Some of the perks might be useful, others less so to many people.   For example, Mastercard Airport Conceirge.   For someone to meet your flight costs around $250 (but wait, WEMC get 15% off!) and if you want help with your baggage, that is extra.

Visa Signature and Mastercard World have become much more common, most cardholders in the wider world probably have at least one without knowing.  WEMC adds an additional layer of (fake) exclusivity, and whenever the need arises, MC and Visa can create new tiers....

My thoughts exactly. To actually use the perks you need a handbook.

Not to hijack the thread, but speaking of MasterCards, does the CSP World MC still exist? Would like to add that to my line up next month.
Discover IT: $20,5k | Chase Freedom: $5k | CSP: $7k | Amex BCE: $25k | BofA Cash Rewards: $12,4k | Citi DC: $8,4k | Cap1 QS: $6k | Commence: $11k | US Bank Cash+: $8k | Macy's Amex $5k | Kohl's: $3k

There are a couple of perks that one may use from time to time, but for the most part 99% of the population won't notice the difference.
