I heard about all the targeted offers people had for the Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant (old SPG Lux) and the Hilton Aspire, so I decided to check it out, and fortunately, I had an upgrade offer for the SPG (I can't bring myself to say MBB)!
I had a few questions, as I've never upgraded a card before:
1) My account renews in March, but I think that means the AF and everything won't post until April, which is cutting it close to the deadline for the offer (4/24/19). And in terms of free night certificates, if I upgraded after renewal, would I get 1 free night from the old SPG and 1 free night from the new one?
2) I've paid the $95 for the old card. When I upgrade, will I immediately be charged the difference ($355), and then charged another $450 upon renewal?
3) If I upgrade now, do I get the $300 credit up until renewal for this year, and then another $300 after renewal?
4) Do you think it's wise to upgrade at this point? Do you think that they might increase the signup bonus in the future? (I know this is speculative)
