Quick Chase combination question

Mom just paid the last of a BT on her Chase Slate today. While on her account she had an offer for a Freedom and was approved for 1,500. She's thinking about combining the Slate into the Freedom. I searched and saw that the Slate has to have 30 of no activity. Her statement will cut around the 6th of May, and all she has had on the Slate was the BT, no interest ever. Does that mean she'll have to wait until the June statement or would she be able to combine in May?

Re: Quick Chase combination question

I would say 30 days from the day she made the final payment. But just call them and ask-With Chase and combining the rules are whack. This last time I needed to keep $1500 on my donor card. Was told it depends on how much you used the card, not just if the card was used.

Re: Quick Chase combination question

I would agree that it should be 30 days from the last payment date.

Also I would ask them to move everything but $500 from the Slate's credit limit to the Freedom. Once they do that then you can close the Slate the next day.

If you ask to move all the line from the Slate to the Freedom and close the Slate it may cause Adverse Action. Just my recommendation from reading dozens of posts on here.

Another option is she could PC it to the Freedom Unlimited card.

I would recommend a different tactic - PC the Slate to Freedom Unlimited.  That way she has the Freedom for category spend, and the FU for non-category spend, all accumulating in the same reward currency (UR)
