Quick Q on 3xCLI Amex

Hey guys, today is my 61st day & I'll be requesting my CLI. I need some insight from you guys. My utilization has been high & I've been doing cash advances but PIF. Amex site shows my Fico as 712 right now & it was 709 when I was approved for a SL of $5K. At the moment I'm about 50% utilization with 42% utiliztion across all credit BUT that just hit report today & is not on the report that Amex last pulled (as far as I can tell since the 713 score was the most recent).

Income is ~$200K & $23,900 avail credit (on today's report) & 1 new account showing (although it was actually opened prior to Amex).

Should I pay down the balance before I try for the CLI? Do you think I'll be ok since I've been PIF?

TIA!

Re: Quick Q on 3xCLI Amex

30% of your credit is your utilization, I would look at all your CC and pay down the smallest accounts first.

Credit is non bias towards wealth, all your revolving trade lines have the same impact on your report. Since your creditor will be doing a pull I recommend showing your best game face to acquire the best outcome. #mytwocents

Re: Quick Q on 3xCLI Amex

Thx. Amex doesn’t typically do a pull for this CLI & my question is very specific to the Amex 3xCLI.

If you've been PIF and your scores from your approval and current reported one from AMEX website are basically the same you should be good to go in requesting. It won't hurt to pay it off first before requesting but don't think it's necessary.

If I were in your shoes I'd make the request.  Its only a soft pull and the worst that could happen is that Amex will say no.

Re: Quick Q on 3xCLI Amex

Well you sufficiently scared me with your comments about the cash advance, so I paid the full balance today & am waiting for it to post before I submit the CLI. I will update as soon as I know.
