Quick question for the experts

I have a Target card that I sent a gw letter to and they removed my 30 day lates. Now I look at my report and there is an old stolen/lost target card that was mine, but still shows the lates. How do I handle this? I thank you for your advice in advance!!

The GW letter probably referenced the new account you can resend letting them know thst you understand that all lates would be removed

Thanks Brammy!  Do you think it would work to go the other route and dispute with the CRA's?

Upon further review....

Experian has the account listed 2 times and both are the lost/stolen card with different account numbers.  So, basicly experian doesnt have my current account listed at all!  But back to the problem, 1 is updated with all current, the other still shows the lates.  Should I just dispute the account as not mine?  Should I dispute it as a duplicate?  Should I dispute the lates?  Should I call Target?  What is my best course of action?  HELP!

Re: Quick question for the experts

Ok so it looks at if you ma have lost the card.  contact the issuer rto see if they will remove.  I wouldn't deal with the CRAs unless you want to take a chance on them updating the whole shebang as lates.

Thanks again brammy, what i was thinking was, because its an account number I never had I would be able to dispute as unknown.  The other account that experian is reporting as lost/stolen is reporting no lates and all the other reporting agency's have it correct also.

If the account was yours, handle through OC. You do not want to dispute something that is yours and say it isn't. That is as I understand it illegal. I would contact target and have them deal with it. As Brammy said, tell them you thought they would remove all lates. That includes the lost/stolen account.

I understand that its illegal to say an account that is yours isn't. Technically, how can an account with an account number that isn't/never was mine be mine? The lost/stolen account had an account number of xyz, my new account number is abc, the account in question is yyz. I contacted Target and they told me to go straight to Experian. I think experian may have duplicated the account and somehow picked up a different account number.
