RECON: timeframe after initial denial

Question:  How long after the initial denial is RECON an effective option?

I applied for an AMEX/Costco TrueEarnings card in 07/2008 and was denied.  Only after discovering myFICO in 02/2009 did I begin the credit repair process. My credit profile looks different now than it did then, which was 9 months ago.  Should I RECON a 9-month old denial or simply re-apply?

Re: RECON: timeframe after initial denial

I believe after 9 months you would have to reapply. I would think recon would only work within 30 days.

Have never had to try recon myself, others here may know better.
