Re-registering with GEMb for your Chevron/Texaco card

GEMb took over the servicing of Chevron/Texaco card holders in January. Just this week, how you log in has changed. I found out the hard way, and had to completely re-register.
It took a good 20 minutes on the phone with a really nice CSR based in Atlanta to get it straightened out.

Like many of you I keep my online cc info in a folder. I save the log in pages to the favs. Naturally the url that was stored in the folder is obsolete, so it took a phone call, and umteen tries to re-register me. But it got done.

While we(CSR & I) were twiddling our thumbs waiting for that pages to refresh, I dropped the hint I wanted a cli. She asked me what I'd like the cl to be. I told her $1,000(current cl is $400), but I could live with $800(didn't want to be pushy).

She pushed some buttons and came up with $200 in cli, but that didn't satisfy her. She pushed a couple more, and found an addition $200. So cl now stands at $800. So now it comes out of the sockdrawer for a while. lol.

BTW, I asked her when it reports to the CRA's and she said "all accounts report on the 30th of each month. (that surprised me.)

Just FYI you all. Smiley Happy

Re: Re-registering with GEMb for your Chevron/Texaco card

i received an email two month ago from chevron stating i will receive a paper bill instead of an e bill for march because of the upgrade. for me re registering was simple(just email and account no.) but there was some lag on the website. the layout is now more simple.

Re: Re-registering with GEMb for your Chevron/Texaco card

I did the re-registering as well the other day.. was surprised it went a little more easy this time, went into some security questions and got into the acct.. I then called cust rep. to ask about cli.. cl200 at the time.. she looked into it and gave $300.. now total cl at $500.. it's good to know they report every end of the month.. thanks..

Thanks!!!

Just re-registered... pain in the butt and slow.

Think I'll wait on asking for a CLI until the collection is deleted and a few new balances post (made BIG payments).... not even talking with AmEx until then....

Re: Re-registering with GEMb for your Chevron/Texaco card

I don't think you can do cash advances on this kind of card.. I have a nordstrom store card without the visa logo and has that cash availability on hand I don't know what's the difference but I think of it more of a store card coz of it's exclusivity..

the reason why i asked was that i called customer service and was told that a pin number will be sent to take out cash advances, plus it says cash availability along with my account balance on the website.

Re: Re-registering with GEMb for your Chevron/Texaco card

In that case, you are right.. you can take out cash advance if they assigned you a pin or has that cash availability on your online or paper statement.. I think you can take it out on atm machines with certan logos.. (Cirrus, visa, mastercard...)
