How to stop getting the new citi visa card? I have the costco amex TE card and dont want to get the citi visa one.

I will use some other visa card.

Is there a way to PT the costco amex to amex everyday cash or some other amex without HP.

Thanks

Simple.  The only way to stop it (in your specific scenario) is to close your AmEx TE.

There is currently no PC option available for the AmEx TE to the indicated choices you mentioned.

I agree. The switch to Visa opens up a whole new world of possibilities, which is somewhat exciting.

Just to clarify, Costco is changing to Visa, not MasterCard.

You might want to edit your post and update the subject to indicate this - that will correct how the thread appears on the forum.

Otherwise your thread will get 'watered-down' with posts from folks correcting you instead of thoughts on the conversion.  Smiley Wink

I'm hoping that there might be an option after 4/1, when the contract is up.   We'll see.   I'm not a Citibank fan, so I'd rather stay with AMEX.

Ironically, now that Sam's has started taking Visa, it will be possible to use the Costco Visa card at Sam's Club.   Smiley Surprised

lol the irony! But seriously it's 2016 both Sams and Costco are late in the game, if small businesses can accept all types of credit so can they.

Sam's Club also accepts Amex now, so you can use the Costco Amex there for the time being.

It is by will alone I set my mind in motion.....
Always follow these rules: Only take a HP for a new account. Always use the best rewards card for that reward category. Don't close a card unless you know you really should. Never use more than 35% of a credit limit. Recon as much and as best you can. Use the introductory period to the best advantage. Get the signup bonus. Whenever possible PIF or balance transfer so you pay less in interest. Never give an excellent rating when it is actually the norm. Always look for a discount as more is always better.
Always accept candy from strangers because they have the best candy or from people you know have good candy.

Re: Reaction to the Costco conversion from Amex to Visa

I find the change favorable.

While I don't shop at Costco often, I'll use the Fid Visa or Visa GCs.  The latter makes it much simper when having to frequent Costco with a friend whose a member.

Small businesses accept a range of payment networks because they have to. Costco turns the payment network into a profit center by restricting it to one credit card payment network (AMEX for now, VISA very soon) and getting the benefit of the greatly reduced swipe fee costs from their volume. With Costco-size sales volumes, those reductions of swipe fee rates, even by fractions of a percent where Costco pays less, add up to real money.
