Rec'vd a letter from Chase today saying my CC has qualified for their Reage Program. Back in Feb. I contacted Chase because I was behind on payments and was looking for some help. They put me on a payment program to catch up on the past due amount. I just completed the payment plan last week. Now I get this letter. Has anybody else been offered the Reage Program from Chase. What benefits will I see on my credit report.
We have good news for you! Your recent payments have qualified your credit card account for our Reage Programand it's no longer past due. As long as you continue to pay the minimum due each month on your currentbalance, you will enjoy these benefits:
* no lates fees;
* updated credit record to reflect your account is in good standing; and
* no collection calls
In the event your payment is returned as a result of non-sufficient funds, your account will revert back to its pastdue status and collection calls will continue until you bring your account up to date.
Participation in our Reage Program is limited. If your account becomes delinquent again, you may no be eligibleto take advantage of this payment solution for the next five years.
It's your responsibility to maintain your good credit rating. Please take advantage of this program and continue tomake payments to keep your account up to date.
Is this a real letter from them? Sounds suspicious to me. Looks like you copied and pasted it but there is a lot of words that are missing spaces (or maybe you retyped it - if ya did, sorry for pointing those out). And, for them to say if you miss a payment, collection calls will continue just seems unprofessional and a little odd.
Does it look legit?
I work in call center collections and we use that verbiage all the time ("... collection calls can/will resume or continue if you are past due or miss an arrangement.) Many people think they can schedule a payment or arrangement to get them out of collections with NO INTENTION of keeping the agreement. This is just full disclosure so customers understand if you dont keep your end of the bargain, you will remain in collections.
Have you tried calling Chase to see what they say? If it is like student loans, then once you complete and get current, they update your information with all the bureaus and remove your late payment history. It is definitely worth finding out their process.
