Re: Reasonable Cap1 request?

In these situations, I keep trying until I don't think it's worth my time any more. To avoid more HP I would try the PC a couple more times after waiting a few months but don't mess with CLI until you have the cards you want. I understand the pride angle but it's best to logically look at what you are trying to do and the amount of effort you are putting on to get it and ask if the outcome is worth it.

You make a good point.  I presume I'm just tired of dealing with it.  Since I feel no loyalty from them, I have zero desire to use the card for anything and won't.  I don't hate Capital One and, in reality, they are the reason I have an AMEX, Citi, Discover and HNB Voice.  They gave me a chance when no one else probably would.  That said, it should not be like pulling teeth to get the card to grow with me and have to go through the EO for even a fair chance. I hit the luv button for my 1K card and got the "you'll get a letter" message about a week ago before going back to the EO.  Their denial letter had an EQ score of 780 and my DTI is about 14%.  I don't feel a sense of entitlement but I also don't think I should have to fight to get above 1K on my oldest CC given my situation.  I hope that makes sense.  And, I certainly wouldn't apply for another card anytime soon if I close these, especially knowing it's a triple pull.

Congrats

It is by will alone I set my mind in motion.....
Always follow these rules: Only take a HP for a new account. Always use the best rewards card for that reward category. Don't close a card unless you know you really should. Never use more than 35% of a credit limit. Recon as much and as best you can. Use the introductory period to the best advantage. Get the signup bonus. Whenever possible PIF or balance transfer so you pay less in interest. Never give an excellent rating when it is actually the norm. Always look for a discount as more is always better.
Always accept candy from strangers because they have the best candy or from people you know have good candy.
