Recently, BOA reported off-cycle (secured PC update)

they dropped the "secured" designation from my tradeline though i didn't ask to graduate, only if i could add rewards to my secured card and if it would delay my graduation time (turns 1 year on august 24th).

Well today i got a letter dated 6/21 from BOA (they day i noticed the changes, the day before my 10th statement closed)

a week later, no hard pull has shown up on either of three CRA. Could i be so lucky? Now to wait a couple weeks and see if they 1-2-3 card actually shows up(they might have gotten confused)

In any case, 1200 bucks richer!Smiley Very Happy

For the Record, i called the second backdoor number for secured cards (800-824-5895), since the number the OP used in this thread wasn't taking calls on weekends.

I have/had a Fully Secured card; I had just reached my new highest balance this month @ 487 after buying some tickets to the tennis US open(i had a previous high of 304 when my TL was only 600), it was paid down to 7 bucks by the time they reported on 6/21, and the day after they updated again to my statement closing balance of 0.00

Re: Recently, BOA reported off-cycle (secured PC update)

remember, i didn't ask to be graduated, only for a PC to a secured 1-2-3 card, per the other thread. THAT is supposed to take 2-4 weeks for the new card to come. I called on 6/16, they updated the reports and wrote the letter on 6/21, and the letter jsut arrived today. the actual letter was 7 days from Texas to MD. I don't know if they looked at unsecuring the day i made the call(6/16) or a few days later when they wrote the letter(6/21). So perhaps 12 days for the unsecuring process.

Of course 14 business days(to get the actual check, since i don't have a BOA savings or checkings) from that letter is july 11th.

Re: Recently, BOA reported off-cycle (secured PC update)

Check got here yesterday 6/29. Dated 6/26 from Arizona to Maryland in 3 days. LOL, I'll bet it wont be so fast to get my money back when I close the cap1, even while having a checking account with them.

Anyways I guess this officially closes this chapter, so for all those out there contemplating the boa secured or already have it, treat your credit(all your tradelines) good, pay in full, dont max it out, and good stuff can happen, even with BOA. But of course...

YMMV
