Simple question: what is a good card that offers a good combination of high intial credit limit with low to reasonable interest rate?

+1 also Alliant FCU is good actually Credit Unions in general.

I'm not sure PenFed fits the "low to reasonable interest rate" part of question.  PenFed is variable 13.25% on their platinum cards.

Part of your question will depend on eligibility you may have to various CU's that cater to military/DoD and family.

IME, my best initial CL's with APR's below 10% were:

NFCU  9.65% Rewards and 7.9% non-reward (no fees)

PSECU 9.9%  (no fees and 3.9% BT)

USAA (FSB)  8.9% (no fees for online cash advance, $75 max for BT/convenience checks)

Alliant CU 8.5% 

Addison CU  5.24% (no fees, 3.9% BT)

Others have posted positive results for Affinity FCU and US Bank.

There are, of course, others....this is  short list focusing on good CL's with low (under 10%) apr's.
