Hi! As I stated earlier on a post I had applied for a credit card with my bank, Regions. I just received the letter today, they must be really slow bc the letter is dated 07/02/2012 and I think I applied on 06/22/12 or 06/25/12 LOL..ANYWHO.. a few questions..
Do I write the recon letter to the address on the letter? There is no tn# it says Consumer Loan Dept. blah blah blah..They pulled TU, which for the few cards I've just gotten pulled recently..The denial reasons were:
Insufficient time since most recent acct established, to many credit checks (or recent applications) insufficient lenght of revolving credit history..AGAIN arent these all the same basic reason...
I had applied for a few cards recently which I'm sure dropped my AAOA, which led to recent credit checks and my newest accounts (2 Chase cards and another card within the past 4-5 weeks) I actually applied for this one first but not sure why it took so long, etc..I have a CU checking/savings but I do like Regions and want to keep my checking there if I can get a credit card, otherwise I'll stay with my other bank as I have a CU card there..
input???? ![]()
I just have to add this it says at the very bottom of the letter on the back:
It has been our experience that persons who do not meet our requirements at one time may qualify later. If you have any additional information which might assist us in re-evaluating your credit worthiness, we would be happy to review your application.
Thanks for applying,
Regions Bank..
LOL
It does says they pulled credit on 06/25/12 my score was 778 from 250-900 which is a FAKO score but letter wasn't dated until 07/02/12 hmmm...
Try calling 1-800-734-4667 (1-800- REGIONS), that's the number listed on the credit app if you have any questions. Maybe you can start there, and get a better phone number for who to call.
Thanks! I tried that..They said the card is backed by FIA, they don't handle recons there or have any info, I even tried to call bc it seemed like it was taking forever and they couldn't even tell me anything then..
Think I should write to the addresss on the letter??

It is worth a try.
So how do I address those reasons, when to me they are all in the same??LOL I do have a few inquiries most were for CLI on WFNNB cards, will NOT be doing anymore customer initiated requests on those cards..YUCK
Also I have recently gotten a few what I would call Prime cards in my book as I'm trying to eliminate, capital one and hsbc bc of low limits and they both have annual fees..
To prevent more inquiries is it possible they use the report that was already pulled instead of generating ANOTHER pull on TU?
They pretty much are the same reasons in your case (or in mine) from a rebuilding perspective, but they're all individually legitimate reasons for a denial and usually since they're required to provide 3-4 (not sure on exact number legally) it all gets a little fungable anyway. It's better than the old school "You suck, go away!" that people used to get at least.
The only real way to approach it is to explain why you have so many new tradelines / inquiries / whatever. The CLI's on WWFNB, easy enough to plead ignorance on that one, and card upgrades (financial decision or rewards or whatever) is a semi-legit reason too. If you approached your credit building or financial requirements with a plan instead of "oooh shiny!" then lay it out for them. If you do fall into the category of easily distractable by brightly colored pieces of plastic, well... come up with some better rationale before talking to them. ![]()
Also, and this is possibly more important to add than just the explanation of past behavior alone, explain to them why *their* product that you're applying for is desirous, and how it fits in with what you're trying to do.
End of the day, denials aren't the end of the world anyway and there's no shame associated with it; simply learn from them and move on with life. Worst case you know a little more on how lenders view you as an individual, and as such even denials aren't a straight negative.
Edit: when asking for any sort of reconsideration, you don't have any control over whether or not another inquiry will be required, though you can request their not doing it if that's the case but I sort of don't understand that: if you want the tradeline, you want the tradeline, spend the inquiry. Regardless, when waking a tiger, use a long stick.

LOL Thanks Revelate..Great information..
The only thing about the inquiry, I just think hey they pulled one and cited me for having so many and then they want to pull another one..Seems counterproductive to me..LOL
I do like your ideas..I seem focused but I do like shiny things..LOL but was not the reasons for my applications..
Apparently Regions just recently rolled out their own set of cards after they purchased their portfolio back from FIA (Bank of America). The OP may have just missed it.

I wonder if they will become more liberal now that their cards are in-house.
