Regular version of discover cc offer auto cli.

Hello people,

I thought my sharing my conclusion on the difference between the discover it and discover it student.

short story, my sister applied for the regular discover card, she was approved for initial credit line of $750(same as me). she has not had the card for a year yet but she has been auto increased twice $750 >$1,500>$4,750. All increases were done without her request.

I have the student version of the credit card and even thought my credit report look much prettier than my sister I have not been auto increase yet and my card is more than 2 years old that is twice older than my sister's card.

I'm happy for my sister but also not happy from my part lol.

so I guess we conclude that student version do not receive auto increase, maybe for the fact that it is easier to get.

Did you try the online cli request? its a soft pull by default and will aleart you for HP.

I did, but was declined and 3 days later received a letter explaining why I was declined along with my credit score, i guess they pulled, but I was never told. so I don't how to tell if is going to be sort or hard pull.

I could agree with this. I've had my Discover IT student card for 3 years now (graduated college last year), and I have never seen an auto CLI and I've never been able to get SP CLIs either. Mine sat at 1500 since 2012 until I had to take a HP to get it to 3000 a few months ago, which is about 1% of my total available credit across all cards. While a few of my recent card approvals have been in the 20k range, I have a barely usable Discover card that I've been tempted to close on several occasions now. My scores are between 755 and 770 with 0 negatives.

yea i I called the back of the card # and I asked for a pc to the non student version. The csr said she could change to the non student discover chrome but I said wanted the same 'discover it' I currently have. she gave me the # for new account department she said they could make changes if explain that I'm not longer a student. I will be calling tomorrow
