Want to see if I can get it higher than $1,500
so I declined and kept the limit the same.
How long do I wait to request it again?
Thx
Usually 6 months between credit limit increase requests.
I tried to get a CLI through Capital One earlier today, and it didn't reject or accept me. Just said that I would find out in the coming days. So, I guess that means a HP for me? I've heard 6 months between requests, but have never received a CLI from them ever.

Usually the message is a denial, sorry.
Cap1 does SP requests through the LUV button so you shouldn't be worried about a HP. You can hit it as often as you like but look at your letter if denied and see why. When you get your first one, it's six months after that for each subsequent one. My current denial is using a SP from August 25th, I've had a lot change since then. And it basically said your not using the card enough, so no (ok, I get their point, lol).
OP - I would have taken the $1500, that's a nice increase from them.

The last CLI's resulted in $2K and $3K so I was holding out for somethingalong those lines.
You think $1,500 is probably it?
Since I've already declined it, how long should I wait to request it again?
I know what the time frame is for accepting it (6 months).

I've been spoiled with $2.5K, $4K and $5K CLI's on two different cards but even if they had come back either time with $1,500 I would of accepted that. If you want more, I'd wait 3 weeks but there is always the chance that they could say no or even lower it. I'm not a big gambler and would have just said yes but that's just me.
Does it matter what type of Cap 1 card it is?
The hubby got one back in July and they only gave him a $500 limit. Is he able to hit the love button at this early stage?
I forgot to say...he has the quicksilver platinum

I got an increase in my QS1 at about the 70-75 day mark. Doesn't hurt to try, all they'll tell you is nope and you'll get a letter saying why. It's a SP so that's good.
Thanks for the info. I'll have him try since he's over the 90 day mark. As long as it's a SP for sure, it doesn't hurt to try. ![]()
