Removing myself as AU from Chase Freedom

I removed myself from my DW Chase Freedom card today. She opened it in July and added me as an AU. I like to micromanage my reports and didn't really like her account affecting things on mine. Currently she is at about 66% UTI on the card from Christmas shopping and it dropped my scores about 20pts.

I called Chase and they were more than happy to remove me as AU but I also had to specify that I wanted the account removed from my CRs. They were very nice and said it would take about 3-5 business days.

I'll report back as to what affect this has on my reports after it is removed.

Scores 01/04/2017: EQ 719, TU 750, EX 716
Goal scores: 740 across the board

Re: Removing myself as AU from Chase Freedom

Chase may or may not remove your info from your reports. Probably best to call up the bureaus individually and file a dispute so the account can be removed.

Re: Removing myself as AU from Chase Freedom

Chase is very hit or miss here. I added a friend to my Freedom for a little score boost and they didn't ask for a SS. 3 months later it finally shows on his report. Stayed on for about 8 months until his scores were good enough for his own cards and I removed him. Here we are 6 months later and it's still reporting on his CR.

I spoke directly with their credit bureau dept and he said that they would have them removed.

Still keep the number for each individual CB handy just in case.

Re: Removing myself as AU from Chase Freedom

Just a quick followup on this.

I ended up waiting a week with no result other than the account being listed as relationship terminated on my reports. I disputed and got it removed from each CR. The account had 4 months of history and my score dropped a bit when it was deleted. I lost about 12ish points on EQ and EX with no change on TU.

The entire account was deleted and removed, right? (meaning history is lost)

Just wanted to make sure this is what happened.

Would you kindly provide me with steps on how to do this? I've never done a dispute before.

Sure, log into your account on either credit karma (for tu/eq) or directly to the credit bureaus.

Then, there's an option to dispute when you click on the revolving account. If you can't find it, you can always Google dispute *insert credit bureau here*

(sorry on mobile can't get links)
