I am planning on renting a car to drive from Michigan down to Tennessee to visit family in the next month or so.
After having a bunch off issues with my current car I think it would be a better idea to rent rather than braking down half down there.
I was planning on using some of the points I have built up on my CSP but realized that you can only pickup at an airport when booking through the Chase portal?
I am about a 45 minute drive from the airport and about a 2 minute drive from an Enterprise.
Is there another way to rent from Enterprise/Hertz through the Chase portal other than picking up at an airport or would this be my only choice as far as point redemption goes?

What about just renting the car and then apply the points as a statement credit? Or is there a bonus for booking with points through Chase?
Yeah, purchasing the rental with the CSP eliminates the need for insurance I believe which is a huge savings. I never drive cross country in my own cars so I rent every time from Advantage. Super cheap with promo codes and service is okay. Then get double points and free insurance with the CSP.

Hi,
I'd not use the points for Enterprise redemption through Chase.
CSP offers primary rental coverage for damages and theft (so that your insurance doesn't get a hit in case of an event). To get it, the entire payment must happen through the CSP. It's a great benefit to have.
I pick up a lot of rentals from my neighborhood location and love the drop / pick up service.
You can save some money by booking through a discount portal like Topcashback (4% on the time and distance charge, not taxes or fees). Then wrap up more points using the CSP. Redeem it for airfare later!
Thank you! I totally forgot about that, and that would give me better piece of mind too. Will be doing this and cashing in my points for something else at a later date.

Advantage does have good rates but there are two issues: Not many neighborhood locations, and their airport locations insist on insurance document for local renting. I was lucky I read through the T&C and found this particular requirement; otherwise a lot of people seem to have been denied rental because of this. Plus, I need to get to the airport.
Enterprise / Budget locations are generally more convenient for me for regular rentals. Hertz (and to some extent Avis) is just too expensive

Glad I was able to help.
One note about using CSP coverage.
Enterprise lets the spouse drive for free and doesn't (generally) add their name to the main contract. However, CSP (the benefits team) will require the spouse's name (and anybody else who's authorized to drive) officially printed on the rental agreement. So if you plan to let others drive the car, make sure Enterprise puts them on the agreement.

Meh tried them and never again lol. I am an Emeral Executive with National and with the EE Aisle I can choose which ever card I want in it
Plus I find the reps at National/Enterprise/Alamo the best imho

Honestly I rather spend a little bit more for a better experience than save a few bucks
Avis I have tried once and they were good but the most expensive. I would try out National or Alamo ( Generally cheaper of the Enterprise brands) imo
