Requesting CLI from Discover at 93 days. Current limit 750. Going for 5000.

I will be calling discover after posting this to try to get my initial credit limit increased to 5000 from 750. I have a short but "perfect" credit history of six months. I have put through about 4000 dollars on the it card in the last three months paying multiple times a month. I'm curious how this will turn out. I will keep anyone interested posted after I call. I'm hoping they will counter with at least 3k.

good luck and definitely let us know! Discover has become one of my lowest limits prime cards. There were the first ones to give me a chance from any prime lender last year and thats the onlly reason i still keep them.

Re: Requesting CLI from Discover at 93 days. Current limit 750. Going for 5000.

I had to go on hold three times but was finally approved for 5k. The CSR sent me to a specialist, specialist asked me some questions, then said it looked good but had to "run some models" on my report to see if it were possible. I was on hold for about 3 minutes an he came back and approved me. So here is a little more history, my two oldest cards are cap one secured for 200 and a secured card from élan financial for 300 both opened in march. Discover was opened in may with a 750 limit. Current age of credit history is 5 months. I feel like I have done a good job so far at establishing credit and am now looking forward to getting some sweet sign up bonuses this fall! Thanks for all the info on this website!

I would imagine this has a HP?...since SP CLIs don't generally have such a high bump - unless your file/history has been fairly established.  If HP, then it was well-worth the CLI.

Yeah I asked him and he said it was TU. It hasn't shown on CK yet though. Initially when I applied it was EQ.

I thought about asking for a Hp since they normally pull TU for CLI. But, I'm going to wait till next year...hopefully I'll keep getting those auto CLI's until then.

Congrats again!
