Absolutely not.
But if there's a card with great perks for a store you really like, there's no harm getting it. The Amazon Prime Store Card is my best personal example of that: I already shop at Amazon anyway, and I already have a Prime membership, so getting this card--which comes with 5% cash back on all purchases--was a no-brainer.
The one thing I would caution you about is that store cards can have very high APRs! So I'd be very careful using them if that's the case. I pay mine in full each month but, even so, you never know when something might happen that causes you to unexpectedly carry a balance (becoming incapacitated by sudden illness, for example).
Weigh the pros and cons of each card, then decide--but don't do it for score-raising purposes, because that's not necessary.
