Ritz Carlton Priority Pass

Howdy everyone,

Just did a product change today from the Marriott Bold to the Ritz Carlton and, although the product upgrade went through smoothly and I am able to already see the Ritz Carlton card when I login, I can't seem to find the  Priority Pass enrollment link under or tab under 'benefits'.
Does anybody know if I gotta wait a few days for that 'benefit' to pop-up or if I gotta call in or something?

Thank you!

Re: Ritz Carlton Priority Pass

I believe Ritz-Carlton is the same as Sapphire Reserve when it comes to PP, and you will just get the cards from PP in the mail. At least with CSR there was no enrollment required like there is with Amex.

Oh, thank you! I guess I wasn't aware of that. For the CSR, at least back in 2018, there was an 'enrollment' link/ button under 'benefits' but I assume that isn't a thing anymore. I don't have the CSR anymore, downgraded back in 2019 when they increased the AF, I believe. Interesting to know that now you get a the Priority Pass card automatically, without having to enroll or anything.

Re: Ritz Carlton Priority Pass

UPDATE:

Just called Chase and apparently for the Ritz Carlton Priority Pass you have to call in and request the PP card to be mailed to you. The rep asked me if I was travelling anytime soon and I said 'yes' so she expedited the PP card, saying that I should receive within the next 2-3 days.
Just wanted to let you all know for future reference!

Good to know you are getting it expedited!

Is the Ritz Carlton PP version the same as the Amex Plat PP ?

I just got my Amex PP renewal card in the mail good for another 4 years.

Wish I can start travelling internationally as before the pandemic...Smiley Frustrated

Re: Ritz Carlton Priority Pass

Thank you for updating us on this!

@4sallypat The Priority Pass that comes with Amex Platinum allows 2 guests and as of a few years ago excludes non-lounge locations such as restaurants.  (Seems like that benefit was getting quite abused for a period.)  Each AU ($175 for the first 3 on personal card) can also get PP which allows 2 guests.  The one that comes with Ritz-Carlton is still unlimited guests, includes all locations, and AUs I believe are still free on that card.  Of course admission is still going to be at the discretion of the participating lounge or restaurant, so I probably wouldn't try taking the entire office out to lunch at the airport.

Smiley LOL

Ah, thanks for the clarification @K-in-Boston !

Appreciate that info - since it's been a few years since I travelled out of the US.

The PP does come in handy for international travel - used it in China, Korea, Japan and many countries in Europe.

For some reason, I thought I had read that the Ritz-Carlton card was no longer available and only "kept open" for existing cardholders.  Am I mistaken @K-in-Boston ?  I have the CSR and thinking if I could PC to the Ritz-Carlton I could acrue more Bonvoy Points in addition to what I get from AMEX.  Is that correct?  I wasn't sure if R-C points are actually Bonvoy Points and if a PC to this was even allowed?  If you know..thanks for the note!

PS...I have a few PP memberships with other cards so that would not be a factor in my PC

Ritz-Carlton is no longer available for new applicants since the Marriott/SPG merger and card-issuing partners details were finalized.  It is still available as a product change option for anyone who has held a Chase-issued personal Marriott card (the 2 versions currently available for new applications as well as a few legacy cards that are still serviced) for at least one year (CARD Act) and has a minimum credit line of $10k (Visa Infinite).  Ritz-Carlton points, Marriott points, and Starwood Preferred Guest points all became Marriott Bonvoy points a few years back when the merger was completed (SPG points were converted 1:3).  You cannot PC other Chase cards such as CSR, though, only Chase-issued Marriott cards.  The card is very similar to the Amex Bonvoy Brilliant, but does have a few key differences.  And if it's important, the card no longer feels like 3 CSR cards glued together.

Thanks so much @K-in-Boston for the details.  Now I understand.  I have not/ever held a Chase-Marriott co-brand card so I guess that eliminates me...which is fine.  Yes, when my points became one...I was very pleased and am enjoying LifeTime status.  I'll stick with my CSR.  Thanks...
