Re: Roadmap help?

@AndySoCal I don't know too much about them. I checked out the website and I don't know majority of the names on there. I noticed Amex has a 3.6% so I might choose them.

Re: Roadmap help?

@Follower Thanks. I began with the thought of acquiring Chase cards first and I have changed my mind to cash back primary. I think the AAA Daily may be more attainable for a 2nd card with my limited AoAA. But I also like the Redstone Visa Signature

Re: Roadmap help?

@ptatohed Are you able to acquire the AOD card out of state and without being on the employers list?

Re: Roadmap help?

Yup, there are (at least there were) a small list of "clubs" you could join and your club membership counts as AOD CU eligibility.  I recall a Corvette club, I think a runners club, and - the one that most of us used - the mountain bike club.  Join for a low cost ($5?) and then cancel.  There are a lot of hoops to get in (join a club, submit proof, take a selfie, etc., etc.) but, for me, it was worth it.  Now I have Smartly 4% so I don't use my AOD but I'm still glad I have it.  GL.

[Until I can make a pretty signature, here’s an updated draft]

Everyday 5% CB:
Chase prime Visa // citi CUSTOM CASH “A” // citi CUSTOM CASH “B” // citi SHOP YOUR WAY (5% gas (in points), lucrative spending offers) // mylowe’s Rewards // Target circle card // primis Perks debit Visa (50c CB per transaction (5% CB or more up to $10 spend))

5% CB rotating:
Chase “OG” freedom Visa // DISCOVER it Cash Back // nusenda CU Platinum Cash Rewards

Everyday 4% CB:
US Bank Smartly (v1.0)

Everyday 3% / 2.2% CB:
AOD FCU Visa Signature (3%, sockdrawered) // upgrade Cash Rewards Elite (2.2%, sockdrawered)

Welcome Offer / credits only:
Chase SAPPHIRE PREFFERED (grabbed my $1,000, sockdrawered, will cancel) // NFCU FLAGSHIP REWARDS (elevated Welcome Offer, annual prime credit, sockdrawered)

Hotel card:
Chase IHG ONE REWARDS PREMIER (elevated Welcome Offer, 1 free night/yr)

On my radar:
Langely FCU Signature Cash Back (5% CB monthly selectable cat) // Safe CU Cash Back+ (Quarterly rotating 5% CB cats plus bonus cats) // upgrade MyFive Cash Rewards (5% CB monthly selectable cat) // US Bank Kroger (and family) World Elite Master Card(s) (5% CB Mobile Wallet)

Need to join one of the clubs in the AOD "Select Employer Groups"

Most popular at the time was the
-Northeast Alabama Bicycle Association (NEABA)
https://www.neaba.net/
(Membership is processed through the International Mountain Bike Association IMBA, NEABA Chapter)
Use to be $5/mo and many did monthly for one or 2 months. Looks like it cost $20 for a yearly membership, don't know if they still have monthly

or

Anniston Runners Club
https://runsignup.com/MemberOrg/AnnistonRunnersClub/Info
$20 / yr
*
Then in a couple of days after downloading you membership proof.
Applied on-line using that Select Employer Group that you just joined.

For me it was a week wait before hearing from them requesting my scanned personal docs.
[ DL, SS, Residency, POI, Selfie, Group Membership ]

Received membership & CC docusign. (Day 10)
Call from AOD for "Over the phone OK for funding (Day 10)
Received final AOD signed docs (Membership & CC) (Day 10)

10 day's from joining the Bicycle club.

Later reports were than the time frame became faster but still slow
compared to the modern banks and CU's

Just  checked the AOD page and both organizations are still in the "Select Employer Group" and have
up and running web pages.

Do not know if this method still works, most joined way back in < 2022.

Let us know if you go for it and all steps work in 2025.

@unsungivy I'm not too big on the swipes per month. But thank you for the recommendation

Neither am I. Which is why I have them scheduled to happen with 1 penny payments to player 2 on the first of the month on Venmo.

Deposit accounts.com is run by lending tree. What you can find there is a list of banks and or credits and the interest rate they pay on savings , checking and certificate of deposits. The ones that are on top are featured by lending tree banks have paid to have their product featured. You should see a list of banks or credits and the unions below that. Select the product you are interested in and configure the web page to where you are.
