SDFCU- Merging CL?

I have Premium CashBack+ credit card from this credit union called State Department Federal Credit Union for the last 4 years..They have sent me a pre-approved offer online and thru snail mail for their another credit card- Visa Platinum with a huge CL...First I thought that its just a marketing offer and they would run/pull a credit check and would demand proof of income and then would decide the credit limit rather than just handing me out such a big credit...Anyway, I responded...and they approved my application two days later for the said amount without even a credit check and without asking any documents.

However, the problem is- this card is not much of my use. Thus, I am wondering if I could re-locate (transfer) the credit limit from second card to my first card, if possible? Anyone who has ever dealt with this CU about something this issue? I did contact them twice but agents don't know much about it..and referring me to their credit dept whom I am not ready to speak as of now. Anyone has any idea on this CU about this issue???

Re: SDFCU- Merging CL?

Per my knowledge from a few years ago, they do not (openly) merge credit lines. Connect with underwriting to confirm the current policy. If that pathway isn't successful, send the CL consolidation request using the feedback form (note: this would have come after the Visa Platinum approval). If I recall, they have a monthly executive review process for reconsideration requests, a potential worse-case scenario option to pursue.

You are right that they do not merge credit lines. I did speak with them. But their credit cards products are issued by another lender...PSCU in PA...When I first called SDFCU then I was told that they are going to transfer me to their card issuer, PSCU, to discuss about this issue, but I did not speak with them...Then next day I spoke with another rep in SDFCU and rep said very clearly that they don't merge CLs between cards and if I would want to have CL on first card then I would need to request for CLI. I would write them message to see if what they would say about it. Thank you...

Re: SDFCU- Merging CL?

A few days ago I made above cited posting wherein I mentioned that I have a credit card from State Department Federal Credit Union for the last few years, Platinum CashBack+ with a very good CL...and then last month I received a pre-approved offer for their another credit card- Visa Platinum which was of a huge limit and I thought it couldn't be true...so I sat down with that offer for all this time as I didn't want to waste a HP on it for nothing... waited 6 weeks and responded only on its last day...to my shock I got instantly approved for that meaty SL and without even any HP which floored me...and immediately got Docusign and got got a week later...And now I got similar offer for their another card- Platinum Rewards for exactly the same meaty SL...I just couldn't believe it...So, this time I immediately responded...just now...because I did apply two other cards which got approved and I do not want them to show up while I respond to it if they choose to do SP or HP...Again to my surprise, it got instantly approved and said that Docusign will be emailed to me...

However, this time I do not think I will get this new account even thought it got approved...Somehow I think that they would rescind the offer/approval because they can not issue two cards or that much CL within a week without a HP and without POI...I just personally don't believe that I would get it...Its just unbelievable...And what is more strange is- I NEVER put more than $20 on my first card except the first time when I think I had to spend $3k in first 90 days to get SUB...that's about it.. I wouldn't be hurt if they do choose to get back this third card because I am already appreciate for getting whatever I got....Oh well...More I get deep into this credit game, more surprises I learn...
