SP Language AGAIN???!!

Hi guys,

So i went to check my CC and it says on the Citi app. "Based on your responses, you could be approved instantly without a credit bureau resport" I had a CLI approved (same card) one week ago for 6.5K.. and now i'm checking my card and it says that i can click for an SP CLI. I am all lost, does anyone has Citi, has this ever happened to you? Should i click? or just contact Citi card department and ask them if its ok that i that i click on that for my account.  I am the one without an SSN.

Is this some kind of glitch or is a trap? hmm.

Re: SP Language AGAIN???!!

Do you mean you just had an increase on this card a week ago?

If so they are not going to give another increase a week later. That verbage is always on my account .

Yes exactly that, i just got an increase on that card for 6.5K a week ago.

b. I would guess that they are not going to grant me another CLI a week later?!

What happens to the score if i get denied an SP CLI?

Re: SP Language AGAIN???!!

My Citi app always has the SP CLI button but seems they want 6 months between CLIs even autoCLI reset the clock.. Not sure if that is per customer or per card as I only have the DC...

What happens to the score if i get denied an SP CLI? There is no ding for soft pulls, but no sense in applying again . Wait 6 months then try again, some have had success in 3 months but that is not the norm for citi.

Re: SP Language AGAIN???!!

Here's what mine says

"It's easy to find out if you qualify for a credit limit increase. A credit bureau report will not be requested and you will receive an instant decision."

Of course too early, so...

"We reviewed your request, and unfortunately, we can’t approve it because an increase isn’t available for your account at this time. Feel free to try again at the right time. After six months have passed, give us a call if you’d like us to reconsider your request."

Re: SP Language AGAIN???!!

My Citi DC does the same. Shows soft pull language shortly after an approved CLI. If I hit the button prior to 6 months in between, I’ll get rejected with no harm and the clock didn’t reset.

Re: SP Language AGAIN???!!

6 months between CLI per card not per account.

I’ve seen some people get increases before that but it’s very rare — I always get an increase every 6 months when I request and after I get an increase it says If I want more I can take a HP and then you can put in how much you want.

Re: SP Language AGAIN???!!

Does that 6 month period also apply to the first CLI as well?

Not necessarily.  Some new accounts can be eligible before the 6-month mark, but as always, YEMV.
