SP-Store Card Cart Trick?

I've read a few strings on here about the shopping cart trick for preapproval of store cards (j.crew, express as examples). The strings state that its a SP on your credit. I tried it, maybe I didn't follow the process correctly but nothing came up for me on j. crew and express. So what exactly is the process or trick and is it a SP?

it's not a 100% you will get it.

if you have a recent copy of your EX report you can up your chances by making sure when you create your account on these websites you use the exact address as it is on EX... I didn't get pop up offers until I realized my EX showed my apt on line 2 of address with Apt xxx.... I had just been putting #xxx after my address on line 1.

it's not a 100% you will get it.

Yes, it is SP once you accept the offer.  Also, there's plenty of threads floating around that reference the shopping cart trick methods, just do a search.

I did get a pre-approval for Dillards and it showed CL of $300. I did decline the offer so these things do work.

Yes, they work but sometimes it takes several attempts to get the pop-up to appear.  VS appeared on the first try, J. Crew was a different story. Don't recall how many tries it took but it was many.

Dillards? it's GE... they don't usually do shopping cart sp offers, did you apply?

Dillard's and Walmart do have the pre-approval offers from time to time, somewhat similar to Comenity though.  A friend of mine got a Dillard's pre-approved offer online about a year ago.
